Champlain teams are coordinated through Baseball Manitoba’s RAMP program.

Registration is now open and will close on April 10.  Bonivital has streamlined our registration process this year and all registrations will now be completed using Ramp, see link below. This simplifies the process for registration for both you and our volunteers as it allows us to communicate, manage and administrate all aspects Bonivital Baseball players and coaches in one place.  That being said please ensure that all contact information is up to date, including phone and emails for all Parents, Guardians, and Emergency Contacts to ensure you receive any updates leading up to the start of the season.

Rally Cap – Players born in 2017, 2018, and 2019

Grand Slam – Players born in 2015 and 2016

11U – Players born in 2013 and 2014

13U – Players born in 2011 and 2012

15U – Players born in 2009 and 2010

18U – Players born in 2006, 2007, and 2008

Note that our Rally Cap, Grand Slam, and A level teams will still be formed based on the Community Center boundaries, but occasionally players may be moved to teams in neighbouring areas based on registration numbers and team sizes.  We will make every effort to accommodate friend requests and take into account the schools attended by players, but it may not be possible to fulfill all requests. 

In order to organize teams, schedule games and practices, and provide equipment and jerseys in a timely manner please note that late registrations may not be accepted and will only be considered if there is space available on a team.  Late registrations are subject to a $25 late fee.

If you are contemplating coaching this season, we kindly ask you to review the necessary requirements outlined by Baseball Manitoba, including Respect in Sport. Your participation in these clinics will help ensure that you are equipped with the knowledge and skills necessary to lead our players effectively. Note: Champlain is part of the Bonivital Baseball Association and teams are made up of players throughout the Bonivital catchment. 11U (Mosquito) and younger players you can make a friend request. All players will be required to supply their own glove, batting helmet and shoes/cleats.

The season starts first week of May (weather permitting) and ends June 30. (AAA Teams are an exception)

Programs and Age Groups

Rally Cap (7 years old and younger)

Registration fee: $135

Rally Cap – Players born in 2017, 2018, and 2019

The Rally Cap Program is baseballs initiation program and is designed to enhance players’ and coaches’ first experience with the game for players 4-7 years old. The format involves three teams of six players that meet at the park at the same time. Two teams play a 20 minute game, while one team practices in the outfield. Every 20 minutes they switch, so that each team plays offense and defense and has one practice in the 60 minutes session.

Games are scheduled Tuesday & Thursday OR Monday & Wednesday.

9U Grand Slam (9 years old and younger)

Registration fee: $170

Grand Slam – Players born in 2015 and 2016

The Grand Slam Program is designed to promote physical development of children through the game of baseball. There are no hard and fast rules for Grand Slam. Baseball Canada has put forth guidelines; teams of 6, all players in the infield, all players bat each inning, no walks or strikeouts, etc. Typical game days could include a 15-30 minute practice and then a game with another team afterward. 60-90 minutes total.

Games are scheduled Tuesday & Thursday OR Monday & Wednesday

11U Mosquito

Registration fee: $270

11U – Players born in 2013 and 2014; girls playing at this age group can be born in 2012. 11U has two competitive levels: AA & A. All players attend tryouts to determine the level of play.

Practices are determined/scheduled by the individual team coaches. Games are scheduled as follows:

11U A – MON/WED (occasional Sunday games)
11U AA – TUE/THU (occasional Sunday games)

Playoffs are at the end of the regular season. City playoffs are held the beginning of July. For teams that qualify, Provincial Championships are usually held by the 3rd week of July.

13U Pee Wee

Registration fee: $290

Pee Wee 13U is for players born in 2010 & 2011; girls playing at this age group can be born in 2012. 13U has three competitive levels: AAA – high level of performance and coaching, AA – Competitive baseball, playing in a city wide league, A – Development house league baseball where no tryouts are required.

Practices are determined/scheduled by the individual team coaches. Games are scheduled as follows:

13U A – TUE/THU/SUN
​13U AA – MON/WED/SUN

Playoffs are at the end of the regular season. City playoffs are held the beginning of July. For teams that qualify, Provincial Championships are usually held by the 3rd week of July.

15U Bantam

Registration fee: $295

15U – Players born in 2009 and 2010; girls playing at this age group can be born in 2008. 15U has three competitive levels: AAA – high level of performance and coaching, AA – Competitive baseball, playing in a city wide league, A – Development house league baseball where no tryouts are required.

Practices are determined/scheduled by the individual team coaches. Games are scheduled as follows:

15U A – TUE/THU/SUN
​15U AA – MON/WED/SUN

Playoffs are at the end of the regular season. City playoffs are held the beginning of July. For teams that qualify, Provincial Championships are usually held by the 3rd week of July.

18U Midget

Registration fee: $585

18U – Players born in 2006, 2007, and 2008; girls playing at this age group can be born in 2005. 18U has three competitive levels: AAA – high level of performance and coaching, AA – Competitive baseball, playing in a city wide league, A – Development house league baseball where no tryouts are required.

Practices are determined/scheduled by the individual team coaches. Games are scheduled as follows:

18U A – TUE/THU/SUN
​18U AA – MON/WED/SUN

Playoffs are at the end of the regular season. City playoffs are held the beginning of July. For teams that qualify, Provincial Championships are usually held by the 3rd week of July.


Tryouts

All 11U-18U players registered in Bonivital are invited to attend District Tryouts for AA and AAA teams at the University of Winnipeg.


Fair Play

The Champlain Baseball Program focuses on principles of Fair Play. We will do our best to see that:

  • All children are given the same chance to participate, regardless of gender, ability, ethnic background or race;
  • Winning is kept in proper perspective;
  • Coaches and officials are capable of promoting fair play as well as the development of good technical skills.
