Pieces of Me- FAMILY

Family Edition Workshop- Threads of Identity

Champlain CC is pleased to introduce Joanne Roberts, a renowned Winnipeg-based storyteller and filmmaker exploring themes of identity and belonging. Join us for the Pieces of Me Workshop, taking place on Sunday, November 22, from 1-3pm for kids and families.

Pieces of Me is a hands-on family storytelling workshop that invites children and the adults in their lives to explore the many things that make us who we are. Through conversation and creative activities, participants will think about family, culture, traditions, interests, meaningful places, memories and the people and experiences that have shaped them. Each child and adult will create their own visual “Pieces of Me” identity quilt using words, drawings, colours, symbols and collage materials to represent different parts of themselves. Families will then have a chance to share what they created, notice the pieces of themselves they have in common, and discover things about one another they may not have known before. The workshop is designed to be playful, welcoming and accessible, with no art or storytelling experience required.
